Merry Moments Simply Scrappin Kit

I don't know if everyone is like me in this respect, but I have purchased many simply scrappin kits over the last few years. Mainly because I like the Dsp in them, but I've always had trouble putting something together using the diecut stickers that are included. So I challenged myself to try and come up with a two page spread using my most recent purchase, the Merry Moments Simply Scrappin Kit. What better time of year than to come up with a couple of Christmas Pages. I found a sketch that helped me come up with these pages and used the Morning Post Alphabet Stamp set. Added a couple of Cherry Cobbler buttons and some twine. Overall I am quite happy with how they turned out.

One Sheet Wonder Christmas Cards

Well I have been promising these cards for awhile now, and I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get around to posting them. As I'm sure your all well aware life gets in the way sometimes. This was my first time doing a one sheet wonder, and I can't take the credit for the idea, I believe the original creator of these cards was Kari Lynn Klemick. These colors look great together for Christmas cards. I used the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set and More Merry Messages. I also made a little box for storing the cards in, the box matches the cards and is great for a gift for someone.

Punch Art Card

I had made a card for a friend of mine at work recently who's grandfather was sick. Her and I have made some cards together in the past and there was one her grandmother had really liked, so I made another similar card for her and as a result some other co-workers saw it. This brought on a request for what I consider to be my first commissioned card. I had someone who wanted a Christmas Card for her vet so something with a dog or paw or something was her request. Well I didn't have any stamps that would work for this so I started thinking outside the box a bit and then remembered I'd seen some punch art dogs out there, I used those for inspiration and came up with this cute card. It's going to be hard to part with. I'm sure she'll love it though.

I know I promised to upload some cards I did with the one sheet wonder I did and I will do my best to get these posted either later today or tomrrow. Hope you can enjoy this cute little guy for now.

Winter Wonderland...

Well it's turned into a Winter Wonderland here in Winnipeg, but I must say it looks quite beautiful with all the snow on the ground. Or at least it did until it started to melt this past weekend, who would have thought that a week after it snowed it would be melting already. Although here in Winnpeg I suppose anything is possible. The kids enjoyed playing in the snow all week long though and are hoping for more of that fluffy white stuff in the months to come.

My upline Alanna Wharf had made a beautiful set of cards using the one sheet wonder. I also made this set of cards today with a few slight changes to it and then I got to thinking how nice it would look to use a strip of that paper on a scrapbook page, using the same colors, baja breeze, cherry cobbler and early espresso I came up with this great Winter Wonderland Page. I used the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set to create the dsp on here, and tried a technique that is new to myself coloring glimmer paper. This technique was fun and simple to do and that would be how I created my glittery snowflake. Each section of the snowflake has a different color to coordinate with the colors used on this page.

I'll be back later this week to post the pictures of the cards and box that holds them.

Rain Of Leaves

If your anything like me fall is one of your favorite times of the year. I love all the beautiful colors outside and most of all I love taking my kids to the park and taking my camera along. It's not unusual for me to take 200 pictures in an afternoon if the mood strikes and it sure did on this beautiful fall day about a month ago. We hit 30 degrees on this beautiful fall day and made the most of it by spending an afternoon at the park with my kids. We went on a nice walk around the park taking random pictures along the way and then stopped by the ponds to feed the geese. The last part of the afternoon was spent at the park watching the kids round around and play. If only there were more days where we could do things like this. Oh well, I suppose we need to remember to make the most of the time that we do have for the fun things in life.

I have to admit I am absolutely in love with the Orchard Harvest Dsp that is currently available in the holiday mini. The colors are so beautiful and these papers have certainly helped spark my creativity in the last couple of weeks. I have come up with 3 seperate unique pages that are of course all fal pics, but the layouts are all quite different, ranging from 2-3 pics per page and a variety of different embellishments. Some pages were a little more work than others, especially for the ones where I handcut some leaves, but they were all worth it in the end. As always I'd love to hear any comments you want to share.

Christmas Card Stamp a Stack

Hi Stampers, hope you all have had a wonderful weekend. For us Canadians it was Thanksgiving and we enjoyed a nice Turkey dinner for Thanksgiving this year. I'm thankful I was able to spend it with all 4 of my wonderful children and thankful that they are all healthy.

To all those that are from Winnipeg I will be holding a Christmas Card Stamp a stack featuring the Scentsational Season Stamp Set. We will be making a total of 12 cards, 2 each of 6 different designs. The cost of this class is $30, this includes all supplies needed except of course your basic kit (adhesives & scissors). Everything will be precut ahead of time, so if your wanting to attend please give me a couple of days notice so that I have time to prep. The class options are Wednesday, October 17th at 6pm & Saturday, October 20th at 1pm and 7pm. I look forward to seeing you there.

Halloween Treat Bag

Well it appears to be that time of year again, and even though Halloween is still over a month away I'm starting to get ready for it. When I became a Stampin Up Demonstrator I started making things for the kids classes at Halloween, Christmas and Valentine's Day. This is something that they look forward to every year. And now that I have a 2nd daughter starting high school this year, she is still requesting I make something for her closest friends. It makes me happy to be able to do this with my kids.

This year Stamping Up is selling the Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kits (126914) for a great price of only $9.95. In these kits you'll find most of what you need to make this cute Halloween treat. You can also select the bundle with the stamp set (129853 clear & 129852 wood). You'll need the ink of course and your adhesives. And any additional cardstock you may want to add to your project. Here's what I came up with. I'd love to hear what you think.

Frosty Friends Cased Card

This card is a direct case from the new holiday mini. When I saw the card in the mini I knew I just had to case this one. Lots of watercoloring on this one. And then I added some dazzling details in both clear and cherry cobbler for some bling. I changed the card slighly in the colors I used, but like I said, slightly. Here's my version.

Mojo Monday 259

There's nothing better than having the day off when you can find a little time for yourself. For me that's finding some time to either make some cards or do some scrapbooking. Today it turned into a couple of cards. Be sure to come back tomorrow to take a peak at my second card. My first card was done using the Snowmuch fun Stamp set and Greetings of the Season stamp set and the candlelight Christmas DSP. I did some water coloring on this card and used some dimensionals to make it pop a bit. I'd love to hear what you think.

Mojo MOnday 258

I've been doing a ot of Christmas cards lately and decided it was time to change things up a bit. So today I decided to use the Friendship Preserves stamp set along with the Orchard Harvest DSP. I just love the colors in this DSP and thought it would go great for this card. One can always use a thank you card. I'd love to here your comments.

Is Christmas coming early this year?

Well it certainly seems to be in my house. I've been busy making Christmas cards for a few weeks now, some in preperation for upcoming classes and some just for the fun of it. Todays card was a case from Amanda Corbet, you can find her card here. I changed it up a bit, having changed the colors and not using the oval behind the ornament but the snowflake die. My goal on this one was to use as much bling as possible, to do this I used the new silver dazzling details around the edge of the very vanilla cardstock, the snowflake was cut from the silver glimmer paper, and I used the irridescent embossing powder on the ornament. Here's what I came up with.
